Boring Tees was born from a deep dive into what modern apparel buyers actually want — not just custom t-shirts, but a streamlined, no-BS way to order them. We analyzed the workflows of traditional print shops, studied competitors in the screen printing and DTF space, and gathered feedback from local businesses and event organizers in the DMV area. Our research made it clear: customers were tired of outdated order forms and unclear pricing. That insight became the blueprint for a simpler, cleaner experience that makes placing an order feel effortless.
The design for Boring Tees flips expectations — while the name says “boring,” the aesthetic is anything but. We leaned into irony, pairing bold typography and bright accent colors with a clean, minimalist layout. The site feels approachable, fun, and fast, with a layout that showcases both our printing capabilities and past work without clutter. From product pages to custom order forms, every element was designed to remove friction and help clients get what they need without second guessing.
We built Boring Tees with simplicity and automation at the core. Using modern web frameworks like Next.js and Tailwind CSS, we created a fast-loading storefront with easy upload options and dynamic pricing logic. Behind the scenes, we implemented automation tools to notify the team of incoming orders, handle quotes, and prepare artwork for production — saving hours of manual coordination. The result is a system that lets customers focus on the design, while we handle the rest.

We knew we weren’t just selling t-shirts; we were building a service for people who care about quality, speed, and not wasting time. By calling ourselves “Boring,” we disarm expectations — and then flip the script with bold visuals, high-quality print options, and a surprisingly smooth ordering experience. The entire concept centers on one idea: we take the complexity out of custom apparel so our clients can get back to doing what they do best.
